6th & 7th Celebrate Creativity
Celebrate Creativity will be on November 6th at the Joslyn Art Museum.

Throughout the day students participate in:
 
- Two hands-on workshops of their choice
- A guided gallery tour of the Joslyn Art Museum
- Following morning workshops (see the attached form for your choices and permission slip), students join the Omaha Symphony for "Perceptions," a live concert that explores the transformative power of music

Deadline for application: Monday, October 19th - We have to RSVP preferences early for this one

7th and 8th grade Advanced Theatre
Advanced Theater for grades 7 & 8 is on November 4th.  

This full day advanced theater workshop at the Rose will provide students an opportunity to explore three different theater topics (auditioning skills, improvisation, acting, sketch comedy, playwriting, design, ensemble work, stage combat). The workshop also includes a tour of the building and a question and answer period with a theater designer.
 
The Omaha Theater Company is the third largest professional children's theater in the nation, with its programs reaching over 700,000 people each year in Omaha and on National Tour.

Registration Deadline: Friday, October 24th
Cost: $8.70 (check payable to MPS)
7th Forensics
The 7th grade Forensics trip will be on October 21st.

Throughout the day students will use skills of observation, problem solving, technology, medical science, mathematics, and communication to study the field of forensic science.
 
 KC Bang from the Bellevue Police Department will speak about forensics and will bring Conan, a forensics canine, who specializes in solving arson crimes.
 
Students will attempt to solve a staged crime by conducting experiments on the forensic evidence.
